Life Under the Sun

Life is full of mysteries, fleeting joys, and frustrating uncertainties. The book of Ecclesiastes confronts these tensions head-on, asking the question: What is truly good for us in a fleeting world where things so easily slip through our fingers?

Through two voices, the author and the “teacher”, this famous text exposes the futility of chasing meaning in wealth, pleasure, and achievement, reminding us to fear God, savor the small moments of joy he gives, and simply trust him.

Over four weeks, we’ll explore Ecclesiastes’ timeless wisdom—a call to faithfulness, gratitude, and finding peace in the present. Together, we can uncover how to live wisely in a broken world all while holding on to the hope of Christ and the lasting joy he promises.

The Gift of Confession

Confession can be a lot like surgery. We often dread going under that knife and doing the work that repentance takes. It can also be scary to leave ourselves that vulnerable. When we bring our faults out into the light, though, we open up pathways for God to work, and it’s here in this vulnerable state that those around us are able to see our journey and see a path toward healing and hope.

Easter

What does it take to earn your trust? Some may answer a showing of love or a proven commitment, while others might say they’d need a personal invitation. Over 2000 years have passed since the cross. It’s normal to have questions, fears, and doubts, but in Jesus, humanity saw the divine break through space and time – showing us we could trust again. Now, we don’t have to have it all together, but God stands, arms extended. We just have to trust enough to follow that first step out of the tomb.

Perspectives of the Cross

Symbols are powerful. We protest over them. We get angry, proud, or even scared when certain symbols are displayed. They’re often at the heart of our most heated debates about who we are, either as people, a faith, or as a nation.

The cross is a symbol, but it’s so much more. It changed everything. It changed the course of lives and whole generations. The entire population of Earth tells time differently because of what happened on the cross.

So, what does “the cross” mean to you? Have you ever stopped and wondered how an ancient torture device somehow became a symbol of hope and grace? The whole point of the crucifixion was to make a spectacle out of what might happen if you defied Roman rule, and yet Jesus’ cross somehow made a spectacle of death itself.

Join us for this six-week series as we seek to dig deeper into the meaning of the cross, not just as a symbol but as a pathway toward the redemption of all things.

For Everyone

Jesus likened his followers to the “light of the world,” with the purpose of shining God’s truth and love for all to see.

Now, despite 2000 years having come and gone and how divided we can be, the Church is still called to the same challenge laid out in those earliest teachings—that we’re to be a place for everyone, and that means anyone.

After all, once we’ve experienced the light of life switched on in our own hearts, why wouldn’t we want that for our friends, families, and neighbors as well?

ONE THING

New year, new resolution. Too often, though, our resolutions fall flat. Maybe that’s because we go in with “good” intentions. These good intentions are not always in line with God’s best intentions. What if we were honest with ourselves about what God wants for us in this new year? How might our lives look different? How might our church look different?

CHRISTMAS EVE

The true wonder of Christmas is the intricate tapestry woven by God across generations to bring salvation. The choice to fulfill promises through ordinary people underscores that our God is not one who comes to condemn but to save.
