Students

Summit Students exists to help students take their next right step toward God.

Our weekly large group events are all about fun, connecting with other students, and learning from our adult leaders, while our Connect group discussions offer students a safe place to ask hard questions.

We also have service projects, retreats, and other events that give opportunities to see what Summit Students is all about throughout the year!

BAPTISM

Have a student who is interested in baptism?

Students get to take part in baptism during our two annual Baptism events! Prior to being baptized, students are asked to attend an interest meeting on Faith and Baptism.

FAQs

  • Summit Students is all about relationships—with friends, with adult leaders, and with God. So, each weekly Surge and Edge meetings have time for students to hang out, play games, worship together, and explore what it looks like to follow Jesus with our whole hearts in small groups called Connect groups. Connect groups are divided out by age and gender and led by an adult leader.

In Surge, we discuss topics that matter to middle schoolers by examining what God has to say about these topics and support each student as they make their faith their own.

In Edge, we wrestle with the tough questions that characterize high school life as we try to whole-heartedly follow Jesus. We also explore how our faith determines the answer to the core question: “What do I want to do with my life?”

  • In early June, we encourage all 5th graders to attend our 6th grade orientation, where incoming 6th graders will get a preview of Summit Students! They’ll also get the opportunity to meet our Student Ministry leaders and be formally invited to their first Surge. After finishing 5th grade in May, they are invited to start attending Surge beginning that Summer.

  • While incoming 6th graders are invited to attend Surge in June, we ask that graduating 8th graders hold off until the new school year before attending Edge.

Have any other questions? We’re happy to help!
