20 Years in the Making

For 20 years, God has been leading Summit Church along a path with many peaks, valleys, and even rocky terrain—and yet we believe, somehow, he’s been guiding us exactly where he wants us to go, molding us into exactly who he’s called us to be.

Over the years, we’ve worshiped in an apartment complex clubhouse, multiple schools and parks, a concert venue, and an old movie theater. We’ve seen hundreds of people enter the waters of baptism and countless lives changed by the gospel.

As we look back and thank God for his providence through the years, we also want to be praying over what lies ahead. Whenever we gather, there’s a growing, palpable excitement around the dreams and visions he’s given us for the future, and we know how important it is to take our plans before the Lord, trusting in him.

In the next season, we believe God wants us to grow in our knowledge and love of Jesus, our ability to communicate the love of Jesus to others, and also in our reflection of Heaven’s diversity. From our current vantage point, we can only guess at what’s next, but along this journey we’ve learned our God upholds even our smallest acts of obedience. We can trust in him every step of the way.

It’s been a winding road and just like the wind and rain shapes the ground before us, our God has indeed been shaping us. When guests come through our doors, they’re truly seeing a community “20 Years in the Making”, and because of his good and sovereign hand in our journey, we look forward to how he might mold and shape us for whatever awaits beyond the horizon.

Join us as we spend the next three weeks celebrating all God has done and anticipating all that is still to come.
