Global Partnerships: A Conversation with the Kirisuah Family

As we near the end of our global partner check-ins, we return to Kenya to hear from Josiah and Sarah Kirisuah.

Part of the Maasai tribe in southern Kenya, they became the first Christians in their community many years ago and sensed a call to share their faith with their village and surrounding community.

In partnership with Pioneers, a Christian NGO based in Orlando, they founded Christ-Inspired Pastoralist Initiative to work among the pastoralist tribe of the Maasai by meeting the unique opportunities and challenges of their context.

Listen in on Lead Pastor John Parker’s conversation with Josiah and Sarah to hear how they have been doing this year and how the church has actually grown during the pandemic, despite the absence of traditional large gatherings.

Prayer Requests from Josiah & Sarah:

  • For their five adult children as they settle into new work and family roles

  • For Maasai women new to the church in this season to grow and become established in their faith

  • For wisdom for Josiah to lead the church and local community in ways that foster peaceful relationships

  • Praise God for the ability to leverage Summit’s giving to provide water tanks to community members and a newer truck for transportation. Pray that these gifts will last for a while.

Other ways you can get involved:

  • If you are interested in visiting the Krisuahs’ village in the future or making a financial contribution to support their efforts in providing rainwater catchment tanks, please contact us for more information.
